Pro-euthanasia group advocates for 12-year-olds to access state-sponsored suicide in Canada

"DWDC asks that Parliament amend the existing age requirement of 18 years of age to extend it to persons at least 12 years of age and capable of making decisions with respect to their health." Information about MAiD deaths can still be found on the Health Canada website, which reports that in 2022 “there were 13,241 MAID provisions reported in Canada, accounting for 4.1% of all deaths in Canada.” Health Canada even provides the total figure of MAiD fatalities: “When all data sources are considered, the total number of medically assisted deaths reported in Canada since the introduction of federal MAID legislation in 2016 is 44,958.”
