Trump tariffs: White House reportedly weighs agricultural exemptions for Mexico, Canada

The Trump administration is thinking of carving out certain agricultural products from tariffs imposed on Mexico and Canada, Bloomberg News reports.

“Everything is on the table,” Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins told Bloomberg News. She said that specific exemptions and carveouts “perhaps for potash and fertilizer, et cetera – to be determined,” Bloomberg reported.

This development comes after the White House handed down a one-month delay for tariffs on automakers whose vehicles comply with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. This concession fueled a rebound in the stock market on Wednesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging nearly 500 points.
