REMEMBRANCE DAY (CAN) VETERANS DAY (US) Guys, Please Kindly  ❤️   Recommend

Authors

Thank you for being a loyal IFP supporter, community member, and contributor for all these past many years. It's time to grow.

IFP is looking to add Authors to our site. Authors provide both content and opinion in a free and unrestricted manner here. Typically, we repost news stories from an unrestricted source of sites that are linked to. On more rare occasions, Authors provide their own original content and commentary as content for our beloved readers.

If you are interested in becoming an Author and contributing to the content of IFP, please send an email to proffrink24@gmail.com with "Author for IFP" as the title. That way I won't miss it.

Here's how you'll do it.

1) You'll need to register for a G-Mail account if you don't already have one. Go to www.gmail.com and click "Create Account" towards the bottom. Then follow the steps to create your G-Mail account, and thereby your Google account. Once you have a Google/G-Mail account, email me using your G-Mail account and I will add you as an Author to IFP.

2) Go to www.google.com. If you are signed into your Google account, you will see your Google avatar at the top right corner of the screen (this interface may look different on a smart phone or tablet). Beside your avatar you will see a 9-dot grid. Click the grid.

3) When you click the 9-dot grid, a drop down menu will open up beneath it. Scroll down in the menu until you see the logo for Blogger, then click it.

4) You will be automatically logged into the Blogger back-end Authoring platform. At the top left corner, you should see a list of all Blogs that you have Author access to. You should see IFP News in the drop-down menu (if you are an Author at more than one Blog, if not, you will see only IFP News). Make sure IFP News is showing, then click the "+ New Post" button.

5) Here are the steps in creating your New Post:

a) Enter the title for your Post. Copy and paste the title from the original source. If you deem it necessary, you may add/delete one or two words from the title to make it more impactful. For example, "Canadian Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan ..." can be simply "Canadian Defence Minister ..." for a more impactful headline for all of our readers across the world. Alternatively you can add a word or two for this same effect. For example, "Hypocritical Minister Harjit Sajjan ..." etc.

 b) Choose an image for your post. To do this, click the Image icon in the tool-bar beneath the title bar.

Typically, the first image posted will be the featured image (or any other image from the original source article. The easiest way to add an image is to right-click on the image, then select "Copy Image Address.

Then, back in the Add Image menu, choose the option "By URL" and paste the copied link to the image there. Your chosen image will appear in the body of the Post.

c) Copy and paste as much content from the body of the original source article as you see fit, just make sure it is at least 1 paragraph in length. Please do not add your own commentary to the body of your Post. Reserve your comments for the Comments sections that will appear below each post.

d) In Authoring a post, typically IFP News links to other news sources with an excerpt from the source news article (it can be the entire article if you so choose). It is critical to post a link to the original source. Posts that do not include a link to the original source will have to be deleted due to matters of copyright law.

 e) If your post is simply a video, you must either i) copy and past the link into to the Video menu (found beside the Image menu), or; 2) download the video onto your computer then upload the video using the same menu tool.

f) For any original content you wish to Author, you must put "IFP:" before your own title for the content. Failure to do so may result in your post being removed to ensure there are no copyright issues to be concerned with.

g) In the menu on the right-hand side of your screen, choose a label (maximum 2) from the menu that will appear once you click into the Labels field. Once you have chosen your Label(s), you are ready to publish.

h) To Publish your post, click the Publish button at the top right of the screen. If you choose to publish at a specific time and date, you can do so by clicking "Published on" in the right-side menu, then choose exactly the date and time you'd like your post to go live.

i) Finally, SHARE SHARE SHARE. Don't be shy, be brazen! Share on social media, via email, with friends and family, people you talk to, or whomever! SHARE your content and encourage engagement. Also, make sure you stay vigilant on your OWN post. Respond to any comment posted on any of your posts. Obviously, you posted something that's interesting to YOU. Talk about it! That's what IFP is for.

That's it, that's all! If you have any further questions, please post them in the Comments section down below so that all potential Authors will be able to read the answers to questions they may have themselves.

Onward and upward!
